I love wearing a festive shirt and accessories for Valentine's Day (or any old holiday), but I do my best to look cute and not like the February version of an Ugly Sweater Party.  Here's a roundup of some fun ways to wear your heart on your sleeve.

I can't wait to wear this shirt.  True story... in 2017 my son and I made it our new year's resolution to eat at Torchy's Tacos every Sunday after church.  I don't want to brag, but MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.

This top is super cute too!

Fun fact... I never ever wear boring socks.  Why would I when there are so many different patterned ones?  I'm loving these!

The same goes for jammies.  I love a cute pair of pajamas or nightgown/shirt.

I also love robes.  I'll wear a robe whenever possible.  This Kate Spade one gives me all the heart eyes.

I'll leave you with a few more treats to up your Valentine's Day game.

Love is in the air!

Valentine's Day Tablescape

I love an elaborate tablescape.  Real talk... my dining table is either decorated and set for the next occasion, or it becomes the catch-all spot for the kids' school projects, mail, etc.  It makes me much happier to set a pretty table!

Most of my V-day decorations pre-date my kids (translation they are OLD) because I had my first baby the day after Valentine's Day.  He's my forever Valentine, but I usually buy more birthday things this time of year.  I did find this big polka dot heart the other day and it went perfectly on my Eiffel Tower.

I've had these little Pottery Barn "love" plates for approximately 100 years.

A quick trip to Trader Joe's for flowers filled my pots and vases.

The scene is set for a family Valentine's Day dinner at home... which is our favorite way to celebrate!

Movie Night: The LEGO Ninjago Movie

Movie NightAmy WileyComment

It's movie night and this one is too fun.  The LEGO Ninjago Movie was a big hit with us!  If you're new to my blog, read the background on movie night here.

For the table all it took was a trip to our playroom to round up some LEGO stuff.  I put a black napkin on the big LEGO head to give him a Ninjago look.  After watching the movie, I wish I'd added a green headband.

The place settings were my favorite part.  I used a black napkin for the mask.  I love these napkins and have them in several colors.  I bought this printable for the eyes.  You could DIY this part, but for $1.99 it was fast, easy and looks great!

For dinner I made Slow Cooker Pineapple Chicken (fitting with the theme) and served it over rice.  I didn't get a photo, but it was delicious.

For dessert I made candy sushi.  It's so easy.  I made rice krispie treats and topped them with Swedish Fish and Fruit by the Foot.

My kids went crazy for them!

This movie is really funny, even for adults.  We all got a kick out of it!
